I joined Resource Guru as their first in-house content hire in June 2022.

I’m responsible for developing our organic and inbound growth strategy alongside our Senior SEO Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Build our content engine from the ground up with a focus on brand, inbound, and SEO

  • Develop our SEO strategy alongside our Senior SEO Manager

  • Plan, research, and write SEO-optimized content

  • Build relationships with SMEs and customers

  • Implement scalable, AI-supported content workflows

  • Manage freelancers and agency relations

  • Own goals, objectives, and reporting of content performance

  • Research and develop our ICP and buyer personas

  • Collaborate with CS to support onboarding and retention strategies

To support the launch of our new Timesheets feature, we developed a content plan that would help us enter a new category and establish credibility. This included a pre-launch campaign to drive leads and a comprehensive organic strategy focused on acquiring high-intent traffic.

Improving the blog UX

Introduced a new top nav to help visitors find relevant content faster and introduced a secondary table of contents for users to navigate blog posts with ease and get to the desired information quicker. We also introduced a set of callout boxes to improve the experience and highlight important information along with optimized free trial CTAs to increase conversion rates.

For our 2022 Guru Gathering, we went big (South Africa big) as we hosted our first team retreat after the pandemic. Not only did we celebrate being able to get together in person, but the company also celebrated 10 years.

I worked with a South African video production company to plan the shoot days, wrote the script, and edited the final video.
